Step 1

Drag the file into Nitro PDF Pro and enter the existing password to get past the lock.

Step 2

Click the Inspector tab in the upper right corner, hit the lock icon, set permissions, and save.

Step 3

With the file now unlocked, use Nitro PDF Pro to annotate, redact sensitive data, add a signature, or merge with other documents.

Step 4

Open the unlocked file in PDF Pals and ask it questions directly — pull a specific clause, get a summary of a section, or find a figure buried on page 40 — without scrolling through the whole document.

Step 5

Export from Nitro PDF Pro as a new file with a clear name — the original protected version stays intact while the unlocked copy circulates freely.
