Create polished tutorial videos fast

When I’m recording tutorials or product demos, the biggest time sinks are: writing a decent script, keeping assets organized, and recording a face-cam overlay that doesn’t look “DIY.” This workflow helps me go from idea → clean draft → organized files → professional screen recording without extra post-production.

Step-by-step process

Step 1

Draft the script in Plus. I generate 2–3 variations (hook, structure, CTA), then merge the best parts into one final version.

Step 2

Create a simple folder structure for the project (Footage / Screens / Audio / Exports) and keep everything in one place.

Step 3

Capture screenshots and auto-rename them with Keep It Shot so I can find “pricing-page.png” instead of “Screen Shot 2026-…”.

Step 4

Run Gemini to remove duplicates (especially repeated exports, old takes, and extra assets) so the project stays light and my Mac stays fast.

Step 5

Record in iShowU with face overlay + AI background removal for a clean, consistent look without fiddling in post.

Step 6

Save presets in iShowU (overlay position + background removal settings) so every new recording starts “ready to go.”
