Here's how I avoid ever needing to "recover" files from an SD card: the moment I pull it out of my camera, I back it up to my Mac and a cloud drive before I touch anything else. I also keep a quick recovery tool on standby just in case a card still gets corrupted.

Step 1
Connect your SD card to your Mac as soon as you finish shooting.
Step 2
Back up the card's contents to your Mac with Get Backup Pro.
Step 3
Mirror that backup to a cloud drive with CloudMounter for extra safety.
Step 4
Format the card once you've confirmed both backups are complete.
Step 5
If a card ever gets corrupted before you back it up, scan it with iBoysoft Data Recovery.
